twisted little sister: In November of 2007, I moved into a very small cabin with no indoor plumbing or electricity, only solar power. Of course it was one of the snowiest winters that we have had in years and I was not very prepared. But I've learned that we really can survive on less, and less is really more. And so this is my story of surviving on less. Less T.V., less food, less heat, but there's more. More excercise, more challenges, more amazing sunrises, more appreciation, more respect for those who live with less all their lives and are happy. After experiencing a year full of challenges, beauty in nature, and cheap rent, I was given the opportunity to house-sit! I moved from the little solar powered cabin in Oct 2008 into a larger cabin with running water and electricity. Even though I now have all the amenities at hand, I value conserving our resources and continue to do so by minimizing use of electricity, water, using natural cleaners and recycling
